Abstract

Researchers use reference management software as an auxiliary tool for academic activities, and libraries provide software subscription and usage education, and related research support services. This study compared interest in topics/search words related to the software of EndNote, Mendeley, RefWorks, and Zotero using Google Trends and Naver Search Word Trends. Google Trends surveyed search volumes from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2021, and Naver Search Trends from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2021. Through the analysis of search word trends, it is possible to grasp the trend of researchers’ academic activities in reference management software, and can be used as primary data for related services in the library.
