Abstract

Purpose:

The purpose of this study is to examine the extent to which the inter library loan, which is a major task in libraries, and the reason why it is actively engaged in the medical library relations. In addition, we will discuss future improvements through comparison and survey of related systems.

Methods:

An online survey was conducted using the Google questionnaire for the Korean Medical Library Association members for 8 days. The survey consists of 21 questions, and consists of an agency information survey and a survey of the current status of MEDLIS usage. The total number of responses confirmed 102 cases.

Results:

The university’s medical library has a large number of inter-loan staff, but relatively few hospital medical libraries. In general, a computer-based method was used when using MEDLIS. In addition, the member organizations were generally satisfied with the current use of MEDLIS, but there were opinions on the charges, and the new service should be reviewed.

Conclusion:

In order to improve the MEDLIS system in the future, it is necessary to consider the periodic update of the collection information, the electronic transmission method of the original text, the active use of statistical data, and the further improvement direction for new academic resource services.
